What is ESG?

ESG stands for Environmental, Social, and Governance. It is a set of criteria used to evaluate the sustainability and ethical impact of a company or investment. ESG factors include a wide range of issues such as climate change, water scarcity, human rights, labor practices, board diversity, executive compensation, and shareholder rights.

Investors and stakeholders are increasingly using ESG criteria to assess a company's long-term financial performance and to identify potential risks and opportunities. Companies that demonstrate strong ESG performance are often viewed as more sustainable, responsible, and better positioned to create long-term value for shareholders, while those with poor ESG performance may face reputational and financial risks.
